This photo, taken today, is of my mother, Evelyn Jones Norris, age 80, and her sister, Edna Jones Bates, age 83. They are the only surviving children of Robert C. Jones and Florence Thorne Jones. Mishaelle and I drove Mother to Center, Texas, today for a week-long visit with Aunt Edna.

You know Joy, I looked at this picture and remember all the times we spent at Aunt Edna's house on 1960 and how much fun we had playing with everyone.
I didn't realize when I was little that Connie and Ginger Bates weren't related to all my Norris side of the family cousins like I was. I guess that's one of the neat things about growing up in small towns.
If you hadn't told me that this was Aunt Edna Bates, I would not have known her. I don't think I have seen her since about 1966 or so.
I am like Gayle I did know that Aunt Edna was not related to us for years. We wee all so close and spent all our time together we did not know any difference that we were not related

At one time, didn't Mrs. Bates live next to Grandma Crockett? I seem to remember something to that. I don't remember the street or anything, but I remember that Grandmas house was behind it (I think).
They lived next door to us on 1960 in Humble they lived on the corner of 1960 and ? can't remember the street maybe Ave F not sure
